History
- Tivat dates back to 3rd century B.C.
- It was an important religious center in 14th and 15th century
- St. Arhandjel Mihailo monastery was residence of ortodox archiepiscopacy in Zeta
- In 1420. Republic of Venice occupaid this territory, which remained under its authority until the break-down of The Republic of Venice in 1797.
- After that, many authorities have ruled this territory, until finally in 1814. Austria invaded it, and remained there until its collapse in 1918.
