History
- In bronze age the city has been inhabitated by Iliri
- Old town Ulcinj was founded in the 5th century B.C. by the greek colonists
- In the 2nd century B.C. Ulcinj was conquered by Romans
- Untill the Middle Ages , Ulcinj was one of pirate cities on Adriatic coast
- From 1423. it ruled by the Republic of Venice. In 1571. it was conquered by Turks
- Ulcinj was liberated from turkish rule on January 11 in 1878, and became part of Montenegro following Treaty of Berlin in 1878.
